We enjoyed the performance of the Ramayana by the Pharak Pharam Royal Ballet Troupe of Luang Prabang. This provincial troupe of 60 artistes was formed in 1999 to re-establish the ancient Lao Ramayana or pharak pharam ballet of Luang Prabang. The artistes include performers fro various provincial groups, students, ad extablised musicians. They perform nine episodes of the Lao Ramayana.
I have such fond memories of Luang Prabang and the beauty of Laos. I lived in Pakse in southern Laos for 2 years and then in Vientiane for 3 while I was there teaching high school and college. Thanks for posting these beautiful pictures and sharing them. Best regards, Jon on 1-30-08 at http://mississippigarden.blogspot.com

I'm an “island girl” born and living in the Caribbean. I love to travel, garden, love art and music and of course the beach. I also enjoy cooking, especially with my own grown herbs and farmers market produce. My job in international development takes me to different countries of the world and that’s what I consider the best thing about my career: getting to meet and become friends with so many wonderful people and getting to experience different countries and cultures. My blogs are Tropical Travels http://tropicalscenes.blogspot.com/ and A Caribbean Garden http://caribbeangarden.blogspot.com/
