An evening in Cazadero, Sonoma

We went “over the river” and “through the woods”

Until we arrived at a stand of massive old redwoods surrounding Raymond’s Bakery

With the resident baker, Mark, winner of several baking awards, who also makes the yummiest pizzas.

Beautiful peony and Japanese maple combination in the garden

A lovely old magnolia

The grilling is easy when you have a potager with fresh herbs to snip right on

The lovely and charming proprietors, Mark and Elizbeth, with a friend

Brunch the next morning was pretty special, too

Thanks Mark, Elizabeth, Tammy and Brad for this most memorable evening!

This looks like fun, Nicole - what a beautiful setting. I hope you don't mind if I suggest different identities for a couple of these more northern plants - that looks like a tulip rather than a peony with the Japanese maple, and the magnolia looks more like a camellia.

Such a big world! So many plants!

Thanks, Rusty.
Tatiania:I totally agree-my 3 favorite things!
Chuck: this is a much overdue post from my visit in May-I waited till i had time to get it right. Hopefully I'll be back in December, I usually visit my friends in SF once or twice a year.
Thanks, Annie-I stand corrected-Mark did give me the correct names, I muddled them up!

That sounds like a wonderful time in a beautiful setting, with good friends. What could be better?
Yum, those chutneys you posted about below look delicious. I haven't eaten chutney since I left Australia.
Thanks for visiting and leaving such a nice comment :)
And congrats on your Blotanical award!
